Ebbs and flows of cancer treatment - Snapshot 2
Stitched together around a centre piece of love
My life is interwoven with family and friends
I quickly realised my diagnosis affected not only me, but also my family and friends, especially my husband. Yes, the cancer was in my body, and I was the one who had to undergo treatment. But my life is interwoven with many, each stitched together around a centre piece of love.
Although I decided against publicly sharing my diagnosis on social media, I did inform family and close friends. Their support reminded me I wasn’t alone or set apart from the people of my life. They continued to shower me with love and respect, understanding me well enough to show they were thinking of me without invading my space or ignoring the realities of the diagnosis and treatment.
